I have placed a 7w heater mat between my two Asian species. I am hoping it will encourage the ants to move out of their newspaper home.

I wonder it I should not have placed any water into the test tube resting against the heater mat. I recon that water will get really hot. Do I place a few more tubes in a line to create a gradually decline in temperature. I think I will remove the water from the first tube.

What a pleasant surprise to come home to find hundreds!!!, ok well nearly 20 of these ants nesting in the test tube by the heater mat, with pupa and eggs and to still see another 10ish in their original newspaper home.

The eggs are an interesting shape.

The larvae moves around like a fly maggot, very active.

About 50 seconds into the video you will start to see the larvae moving.

You may now step off the cotton wool.

Quite difficult getting a stinging ant onto a piece of cotton wool with tweezers, filming with the other hand and trying to transfer them to another tank.

Come out to play.

There was 76 Ants inside that tube, I was well surprised.

I'm not placing my finger in there.

There was in total 115 Ants, truly shocking I had no idea there was that many Ants.
